Hey guys. I just picked up my 2005 FZ1 last night. I had my buddy come with me to pick it up. When we got to my house, he told me that the brake lights never came on. I checked the fuses. All are good. I then pulled the bulbs. I noticed they are double filament. I also noticed that both filaments remain lit at all times. If I'm not mistaken, one should be for the running lights, and one should be for the brakes. Can somebody please advise me as to what could be causing the brake lights to remain on constantly. Thanks in advance.

Most likely the rear brake. The switch is a kind of plunger looking thing just pull it in an out, it most probably has got stuck. Give it some wd40 treakment or 3in1 oil or similar.

As for the foot on the rear brake post... It's a valid post, no new for the reply which you gave. The amount of times I see new riders riding with their foot always on the brake is ridiculous.

Mine does that every now and then, take the rear switch off at the lever and clean it with an ELECTRICAL cleaner. Don't use an oil based product, A. It conductive and B. you will just accumulate more junk there afterwards because everything will stick to it. Work the plunger while spraying, 9 times out of ten that'll solve your issue.
