Putting on new grips - Is there a way to save the originals?

I finally bought some grips and decided to go with the Driven D3 Alumitech Grips.

I was wondering if anyone knew a trip to SAVING the stock grips?
LOL IDK - I would like to hang on to the bike's original parts. Whenever I have done this in the past I would just cut the old grips with Xacto Knife and be done with it.
Just wondering if anyone has any tricks up their sleeve?

This guy rolled the grip off:

I have only cut mine off when replacing the grips.

I use a long, thin screwdriver pushed under the edge of the oil grip.
You then turn the screwdriver whilst rolling it round the handle bar, pushing it up to the switch gear.
A quick squirt of WD40, an off it comes

I've done the old 'screwdriver and glass cleaner' method and it worked just fine for me. Gently pry up the grip and spray in some glass cleaner as you work the screwdriver in slowly. Voila, grip comes loose and slides off like the other two guys above said.
