I just finished putting Immortal Graphix's protective film on my bike to protect the tank from my knees and legs and to keep my graphics from being damaged from cleaning clots etc. The stuff is very flexible so it contours curves and corners very well. It's also as clear as glass so you can't see it. If you are looking for tank protectors all you have to do is purchase it in bulk, cut out your own pattern and put in on. They will give you an installation CD with the material. When compaired to the cost of pre-cut protectors, you'll save 75%.
