Drove an 08 busa yesterday for a good 50 miles. The power is unbelievable. Cannot afford the insurance on a Busa or a 14 so wondering about the BKing. Anyone know how bad the wind blast is on one of those compared to an FZ1? Would you sell your FZ1 to have a BKing?

Thanks!

I dont think i would for a b-king but I would deffently take a busa or zx14. One of my buddys has a 08 busa i thought it pulled hard with the stock186hp. at the tire. then he put a turbo on her ,it made210hp at the tire its had to describe what that kind of power feels like. now the motor is built and the boost went up so she put down 410hp at the tire. i have not had a chance to ride it this year with the big power, but i will. so far the best pass down the strip has been 8.34@177. it is still rode on the street all the time.

Every time I gave the Busa just a little bit of gas, I gained 30+ MPH. It gains speed so stupidly fast. I cannot describe this bike. All he has done is a full Brocks performance exhaust and a PC5.

I think a B would be a fun bike

How ever I can't imagine the power as my T rips my arms out of their sockets already.

I'd think a small windscreen would made it doable.

I imagine (not having ridden one) that there will be some handling sacrifice in moving from the FZ to any of the bikes you mention? So its a question of how much value you attach to the extra power versus how much value you attach to the lost handling? I personally at this stage feel I have enough power and not quite enough handling so I would not want to move in the direction of the bikes you mention.

A Busa would be an awesome bike for you, Papa! More power, more comfort and a plethora of aftermarket and customization available. It would be a better 2up bike and you can also add hard luggage if you wanted.

With your modding skills, you could make a pretty killer looking 'busa I think; just look at your gorgeous FZ1!

I'd love a Hayabusa some day, it's already a classic I think

LOL! Dustin, while I agree that a busa would be amazing, the problem is I cannot afford the Busa or the ZX14's insurance.

The BKing I CAN afford the insurance on though.

I really need to ride a Bking.

Insurance is about 1500 a year more for the Busa than the Bking.

I am keeping the FZ1, it was just a hypothetical question I guess. Bkings are hard to find and honestly I don't care for the looks.

Considering you just changed your gearing to get better MPG and stated you dont really need the extra bit it gives you. I think your barking up the wrong tree there Dawg.

Busa HP

After riding my new 08 FZ1 since 2/11/12 in the 2k-6k rpm areas, I cannot imagine the performance of the Busa. To think I shopped for one for 10 years. NOT. :kuku:

The B-King is a great looking naked bike.

Well all the 16T does is basically drop you down a gear at all times. Never really gives you any more "power". I am in love with the 17T as now doing 80 or so on the highway is right around 5500 vs like 6K. Also I am getting better mileage but it was more to bring the RPM's down than for the MPG's.

The Busa does like 70 or so at like 3500 RPM. I bet it is not getting much worse mileage than we do.

How strange ,, I came from a busa to an fz1 and the insurance is more for the yam , handling wise the busa would take the long fast sweepers very well ,a little hard work in the slower twisties though , where the fz shines , ref comfort , the fz for me although once above 70 the wind would give you a little lift and take the weight off your arms and shoulders ,,, I still miss my busa though

Have you thought about a Connie 14? Still pretty great power, very comfortable, perfect for 2 up and electric windshield to choose how much wind you get.

I'm sure Norm and Cobalt could comment on the Connie. I haven't had the pleasure, but I've ridden an FJR and liked it. I'd love to ride a 'Busa and ZX-14 too.

Good luck with your hypothetical bike purchase! :thewave:

I'm in the process of about 6 hypothetical purchases now :embarrased:

Well here is the end result. My dream is the new ZX-14R. Within the next year I have to ride one at some point. My Christmas present to myself is going to be paying my bike off by the end of the year. Then that frees up some cash, so I figure maybe mid 2014 I will find a leftover 2012 ZX-14R and get one of those. That way I can have both.

The Bking was just a thought of how to get rid of the FZ1 and be truly happy with what I get but the problem is I wont be. The FZ1 is my baby and nothing else is going to replace it. So I just need to set myself up so I can afford to buy another bike while keeping the FZ.

:)
