Hi all,

After 4 years of owning a Suz M50, its time for a new ride. Seriously considering FZ1 (2008/2009) or a Honda VTX due to ergos, price and power. Others that have been eliminated so far Raider (price), Duc Monster (size and convenience), CBR/GSX/R1 (uncomfortable), Hayabusa (too big) and Kawi 1400 (too ugly).

It would be great if any of you have done similar research comparing the FZ1 and VTX (or equivalent) - and if you're truly happy with your choice - understanding that bias' will be unavoidable. The one I was looking at was a red /08 for about $7,500.

The only other advice I can give you is that you might want to wait a little longer to buy at this point. In the Winter you should be able to get that '08 for less than $7k.
 
Thanks NJFZ1, I'm itching to get onto something new before the winter settles in up here... which could be soon.

If I do get one, would be very interested in cleaning up the tail with a kit, get a funky can and change out the fairing to make it unique and mine :)
 
Go with the FZ1. I have an 08' and love it. After a few important mods, it feels more like an R1, than it does a sport cruiser, but without sacrificing on the comfort! GO GET IT!!
 
Thanks for the tips, more into buying one with no miles on it. Great mods on the '08 in NH though.....
 
Check with the dealers up this way as well... Plaistow, Concord, Rochester... see what they have for stock and what they are willing to do for a deal. Sucks that you have to go back to MA and then pay the tax on the sale though.... :(
 
Mom's in Manchester had some, will stop by on Sat to check them out again, going that way anyhow. Doesn't look like much of a riding weekend....
