Just noticed this, not a big leak....looks like it's coming from behind the generator. Bought this bike new in 2006, it has 45,000 miles. never saw any leaks before this, Help!!!

If that is the left side (chain side) might just be left overs from the chain flinging lube.

From the pictures it looks like it is not chain lube, usually that would be visible close to the stand and directly adjacent to the sprocket cover but these areas look clean. Mmmh maybe just clean it and start the engine and look if you can see where it starts to leak.

Also, check to see if you have had the oil level go down a bit.

Kind of hard to tell from the pics but I's say the generator cover is leaking,,,, maybe at one of those bottom bolts. I'd clean it up and re-torque all the bolts on the cover and see what happens.
Sometimes a gasket shrinks or a fastener comes a bit loose with time. Try tightening ( gently ) If that does not work replace the gasket .
Again, its hard to tell from pics but this is my best guess.

I agree with the above. I don't believe it is the base of the head but the gasket around the stator cover
