Oil Drain Plug Bolt Stripped - What options do I have?

Long story short:

- Brand new '12 FZ1N
- 1000 kms done & 1st Oil change due
- Went Tarzan on the oil drain plug bolt & stripped the engine case threads while buttoning it up...

The options I have:

1. Take the bottom case off & retap the thread on the bottom case to accept a new drain plug
2. Buy a new bottom case
3. Buy a bottom case from the breakers / totaled FZ1

Next time I use a torque wrench & ask the missus to tighten it up :doh2::doh2:

Can anybody point me in the right direction for OEM parts online??

I made that mistake once on another bike. I fixed it with these.

++ TIME-SERT Threaded inserts for stripped threads, threaded inserts, thread repair stripped sparkplug's, Ford sparkplug blowouts, threaded inserts threaded, repair stripped threads, stripped threads, inserts threaded inserts, Ford spark plug repair,

Never had another issue with it and the advantage was after the repair I had steel threads in steel threads and did not have to get the wife to tighten the drain plug.

For oem parts try partshark, but pricing on shipping can be pricey on small parts.
