Paul Crowe - "The Kneeslider" on 1/31/2011 Ohlins Lite Shock When you mention the name Ohlins, people often think really nice suspension components but a wee bit expensive, a shock can set you back about $1400, maybe more.

What do you think would be a better shock?

That "Lite" one, or a Penske 8983?

The Lite looks cheap and nasty and is most probably an emulsion type of shock.
The Penske 8983 is a higher spec shock and would be a lot better then this one from Ohlins due to it's height adjustment, remote reservoir and 2 way adjust-ability.
Apples and Oranges though, you should be comparing it to a Penske 8900E instead.

Well I had contact with a dutch suspension specialist (former WP suspension, but that got sold to KTM),
And he said, unlike the hyperpro emulsion shock, the ohlins shock is of a different type.
He recommended the ohlins shock, its supposed to be a whole of a lot better than the hyperpo emulsion shock, so im guessing its not quite the same.

They do seem like very well made products, but not really used much here in the US. I think because of the price people are more comfortable going with a known product (at least here in the US) like the Ohlins or the Penske.

Give us your feedback of the Bitubo once you install it on your FZ1.
