bled the hydraulic clutch on the Ninja with JOTR's mityvac and it only took just a couple minutes.I couldnt remember what tires you put on Billy what are they Bridgestones?

Yep! 023's. Those were what I chose after running off a set of 016's after only 4,000 miles on the FZ1. They wear so much better for me since I commute as well. Yeah, I'm going to tackle the clutch this week sometime and I have the rebuild kit that Tony linked for me in my favorites just in case.

Hey bud...sorry I haven't maild the decals been super busy and then forgot....they are in the truck for mail tomorrow ...with a couple other decals I cut for ya...

Don't worry about that D. I'd much rather see you on two wheels again! When you have time you have time. No worries here on my end.

Billy - for bleeding remove the bleed screws and wrap teflon tape around them. This helps prevent the air from leaking in around the threads of the screw. As others have said a MityVac is a God-send. I also use the Goodridge quick bleed screws. Open them 1/4 turn, pump the brake lever, hold, tighten screw. Can of corn!

For you non-baseball people:

can of corn

A high, easy-to-catch, fly ball hit to the outfield. The phrase is said to have originated in the nineteenth-century and relates to an old-time grocer’s method of getting canned goods down from a high shelf. Using a stick with a hook on the end, a grocer could tip a can so that it would fall for an easy catch into his apron. One theory for use of corn as the canned good in the phrase is that a can of corn was considered the easiest "catch" as corn was the best selling vegetable in the store and so was heavily stocked on the lowest shelves. Another theory is that the corn refers to the practice in the very early days of baseball of calling the outfield the “corn field,” especially in early amateur baseball where the outfield may have been a farm field. Frequently used by Chicago White Sox broadcaster Ken "The Hawk" Harrelson. Also, a phrase used to refer to something that is not challenging. Informally, can of corn may be used as a phrase to describe mild excitement, personal acknowledgement or recognition of significance.

Hey Pete, do you think that "speed bleeders" meant for GenII front calipers would fit on the clutch slave??? They look to be the same in appearance?? I have a brand new set of bleeders that I bought for the GenII calipers on the FZ1 and never used. I'm going to remove the bleeder screw tomorrow and see if it is the same size.

Thanks Tony. To me, it doesn't look as if the passenger peg bracket is bent or anything. It looks as though I'm missing a spacer or something. There is a bracket on the Vance and Hines pipe that I didn't transfer over to the Yoshi. That bracket has an "offset" bent into it which I bet would make the difference in space. It's just that when I opened the Yoshi, it had all the hardware for it in the box so I never used that original bracket. Also, I did feel that the midpipe section looked a little close to the swingarm originally but I had no pics or anything to gauge it by so I figured it was the stock location. With the three washers behind the bracket, it fits perfectly and everything looks in line as you can see in the picture.

Oh and yes! It was Magic! You were there and started it for yourself. You literally need 5 to 10 seconds of choke and shes idling by herself. It's amazing the way it feels. Very responsive at the throttle. I'm super happy with the outcome!

No you're not missing any spacers. Passenger peg bracket bolts on right to the sub-frame as you can see:

It's weird that the exhaust pipe would be bent outward, especially since I didn't see any creases on your pipe to indicate that it was bent a half inch. I suppose the washers behind the peg mount will do.

Your right Tony. There aren't any spacers. The offset bracket is on the back of the can itself (V&H Can). It's triangular and has an offset in it that mounts to the passenger peg bracket to keep the can correct. I left it on the V&H can cause it was rusty and didn't have the same setup as the Yoshi. If I can find a shot of the V&H can I'll post it so you can see.

Here is the shot I was looking for. It's hard to understand but if you look at the V&H pipe, it is pretty far to the right of the swingarm, where the Yosh was pretty close before I spaced it. I'm not entirely sure that this was the reason but I do know that once the last peg bracket bolt came loose, the frame shot over no problem. I may just change the spacer to the bracket at the can itself and mount the peg bracket back like it was.

Well the thing is Billy that that Yosh slip-on is supposed to fit in the exact same spot as the stock one so no spacer of any kind would be needed. Here's my Yosh:

I'll take a picture from the rear when I get a chance so you can see how far away from the swingarm it sits.

I'm at a total loss with this friggin clutch! It was working just fine until I started the bleeding process! How can something go bad instantly without changing anything but fluid?? Maybe I should try at the Master Cylinder like I did with the brakes on the FZ1??? I tried it the "oldschool" way as well as with the bleeding tool and NOTHING!!! I'm totally stumped! :surrender:

Those decals make it to you today?

No buddy they didn't. They should be here soon though. I finally got the paint today from our California Paint Rep. He brought me a gallon of "Jet Black" AntiSkid Paint since I can't get my hands on the Rhino Lining. We ordered it twice already but due to VOC issues they won't send it. This Anti Skid stuff is what they use on tennis courts. It's super durable and should protect the plywood just fine. I should have it done by next weekend. It's going to rain tomorrow and it can't be applied in humid conditions. I'll keep an eye out for the decals. Maybe tomorrow. I'm sure they will call me if they arrive. Thanks bud!

I picked up a couple more things for the YZF yesterday. They should be here soon. Hopefully it will solve the clutch issue I'm having.
