Hi everyone.

I'm new to this forum, but not new to motorcycles. Just sold my 2008 CBR1000RR due to I was really getting tired of being humped over. I might be young, but have quickly come to the realization that unless you're at a track, you don't really need a full RR bike... hence, me and this FZ1. Just bought it, 2008, 13xxx miles, Puig windscreen, rear hugger, bar risers, and a rear fender eliminator - all for $4,500. I'm hoping that a good deal. Not trying to trick the living hell out of this bike, but would like to do some cool things with it..

I need your advice.

Seat - Get an upholstery shop to fix my stocker or buy the yamaha comfort seat (is it worth my $$)?
HIDs- Had 'em on my last bike, can't live without them. They're H4's right? How's the whole high/low beam thing work.
Exhaust- Liking the Leo-Vince, but wondering about the Danmoto...
Flush mount turn signals?.. Good possible ideas? I like the idea of white running lights with amber flashers..
Advice on FCE or Power commander..?

Tomorrow night I'm swapping tires out for new Q2s, changing the oil, and radiator fluid.. Any other FZ1 specific things I need to look into?

I look forward to hearing from you all and want to thank you in advance.

Thanks for the quick reply. Does anyone have advice on the OES frame sliders? I see 'em on ebay and want to buy.

Also, I can't find the flushmount LED front turn signals that you buy and then purchase the covers from the LP flushmounts. Where's the link?!?

I have the same bike and got the OES sliders. They fit great and shipped quickly. I went with the Two Brothers M2 carbon slip on mostly for looks. Its very loud. I got the P1x sound reducing insert and its just barely tolerable. the 16 tooth sprocket makes a big difference in off the line acceleration.

You got a great deal. I paid quite a bit more for mine a few months back, but it had less miles.

Jboat- sweet bike, and thanks for the quick reply. I'll order them today. Also, who's a good vender that sells the OEM Yamaha belly pan for a good price? I feel that the belly pan alters the entire look of the bike.

I personally would paint the silver rad guards black to clean up the look. Cheap and it will look much better IMO. I am not sure why they decided to change the color to silver...

And regarding the seat if you want to just alter your stock seat check out Dirt Road :http://www.998cc.org/forum/gen-ii-mods/12468-new-custom-seat-dirt-road.html
Eddie is great to deal with and IMO his seats are way more comfortable and cheaper then the aftermarket choices.
