New member welcome thread...

New Member - Hello!

Hi. I'm new and I'm and glad you're there. Great forum!

I bought my 2005 silver FZ1 April 2008 from the dealer that sold to the orig. owner. He put on only 1,700 miles and I have added less than 1k since. (Shameful: she needs to be ridden hard and put away...kindly...daily!!) Mine is unusual b/c it has the European FAZER fairings.

It's a great bike, but I don't ride b/c I'm short and it's just too tall for me. I lowered the front 1/5" and shaved the seat some, but have to either give up or drop the rear to be comfortable. Will post about that on another thread.

Glad to join...Thanks!

Hi,
My name is Adrian, and I'm a 35-year old engineer from Sweden. I work as an IT-Specialist for a major software and hardware vendor. Married with 2 children.

I started out with a 125 at 15, but after a couple of years of driving without a license, I kindof didn't want to risk any more, so I sold it. One year ago I realized how much I want to do this again, and how it's never going to be a better time to start riding than NOW, so I started working some charms on my wife, and secretly buying safety gear. This year I got my license in April, and had a super fun season on an almost new FZ6-N S2. What a great toy!
Unfortunately I became a bit too cocky and crashed in September, but now I'm back with a shiny new bike ;)

Needless to say, my wife isn't as glad as I am

A big FZ1 welcome to both Adrian and Va6strings. Glad to have both of you aboard. Send us some pics of your rides!

As soon as I can wash it. It's stock though, and looks like this:

Planned mods : Dual headlight (or dual low beam, and dual high beam), a less grotesque number plate holder, and maybe some led indicators from barracudamoto.
Any suggestions about headlight mods are welcome.

And thanks for the welcome, FZ1riderNY :)

Welcome Java----

two-tone for the European model.....needs a bit more black to complete the look (similar to the Gen I Skunk for my tastes....)

PodMod Lights -- increased visibility and more visible turn signals for the front view -- use the search engine --

My name is Patrick and I bought my first motorcycle in June of this year. And now I spend as much time on my '09 Cobalt Blue FZ1 (and being from Houston, Texas I plan on riding just about everyday).
I am the Senior Mechanic for my family business which is Oilfield Cryogenic Equipment repair and manufacture. We have been in business 26 years and hopefully my brother and I will be able to keep it going for the next 26 years.
My intrests include riding (obviously), restoring old trucks, working on the house, and spending time with the dogs.
The dogs take up quite a bit of my time as they are usually part of the reason I am working around the house.

Look forward to getting to know some of you better

Thanks! I couldn't find anything on PodMod Lights. I agree about some more black. maybe some two-tone at the rear, and black passenger bars, and a glossy black sub cowling ?
Is it these ?

another new guy

Hello, my name is Jerry, and I bought my 09 cobalt blue FZ1 about two months ago. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, so may have to be putting the bike up for the winter soon. This is my second bike, my first one was a 06 Honda 599. I have been riding a couple of years, I bought the Honda when gas prices went up over $4/gal. This bike has awesome power compared to my Honda 599. I work as an aircraft mechanic, and have been doing that for about ten years, but just a few months back started going back to school for my degree in computers/IT, hopefully a more stable industry.

Hi Jerry, A pleasure to meet you. Glad that you have joined up. When you have time send along a picture of your new ride as we just love to look at
FZ1's. Also feel free to browse the forum and find the contests that we run were you can upload a picture of your ride and hopefully win some spending loot to use up in the Forum Casino. Just search out the M.B.O.M. or Members Bike Of The Month Contest. You may still have time to enter into December's contest. Any questions you may have can be posted as well. Never feel that your question isn't good enough. We will try and answer any questions you may have, no matter what. Welcome!

I'm Eric

I live in suburban Birmingham AL. I work for Honda Manufacturing automobile plant here in Alabama but i like Yamaha motorcycles better. I have one daughter and am recently divorced, which means no more of the wife telling me i cant ride, ha! My last bike was a Honda CBR 600F4i, which i did not enjoy rideing longer than 30 min. My interest are motorcycles obviously, and music. I play bass guitar and have done so in many local bands but currently dont have time for gigs. My job keeps me away from my leisure activities way too much, but i always look forward to a sunny Saturday and and curvy road.

G'day all. Recently went 4WD hunting on my FZ6 and one attacked it and bit a big chunk outta the side, so it's time for a new bike.

I've been wanting more power for some time, so I'll be upgrading to the FZ1 in the next week or so.

Been a member of the FZ6 forum for some time, and looking forward to spending time on here too.

Cheers
Mike
