Hey guys and gals, new member here from southeastern WA. Just picked up my 2nd FZ1, sold my '05 last year and really missed it. Picked up an '07 with a GYTR exhaust, retro kit, flush mounts and fender eliminator last week. Really loving the bike so far, have a few plans for it, and look forward to participating in the community here! Anybody else local to me? I'm in the Yakima Valley.

I'll get some pics up after work today, for sure! I really haven't had a lot of time to get out on the new one, I've had a nasty cold the last few days. I do know that I need to stiffen up the back of Ruby though. The current ride is far too squishy.

There she is! I'll have to rummage around for pics of my '05, she was a stock silver bike, aside from a black shorty screen.

My current plans are to shorten the stock screen, or scoop up an aftermarket screen, and get mirror deletes with bar end mirrors, kinda hard to see past my shoulders...

Any other tips for cheap/free mods? I'm new to wrenching on bikes, but I love to learn and regularly get down in the garage on our SRT-4, '96 Neon Coupe or '05 Titan with my girlfriend. We're both gear heads...

Very nice! Gotta love the Retro look. As for mods, I couldn't help you as I was a former GenI guy. I know that most guys go to a GenI Front Sprocket for a really quick, inexpensive, boost in off the line grunt. Other than that, it's mostly Computer Maps, Zipping the Flies, and stuff like that.

Best of luck with your new ride!

I'm not sure what you mean by "zipping the flies?"

I guess this was a CA bike, and was black. When the local dealership got it, it had a damaged tank, but no other damage, through some sort of parts swapping, the retro kit landed on it, sans the red front fender. I'm actually glad they kept the black fender, I'm extremely happy with the look. All 4 of our children are extremely excited to go for rides, but 2 of them have another year to wait. My lady's helmet should be here this week, so she's also pretty excited to jump on with me.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

Thanks guys! Those CopperDawg screens are amazing! But far out of the budget for us at this time. Still curious about the modified flies, in my perusing, I've determined these are secondary butterflies in the intake, correct? Similar to the Magnum motor found in the 2nd generation Neon R/Ts and ACRs (sorry, referencing what I know, and my driveway has seen 8 Neons... 2 currently) haha

Beautiful bike. Only thing I see different from what I want is I want a shorter screen. I really wish mine had the belly pan, but they are so dang expensive for such a small aesthetic piece...

You wouldn't happen to have your passenger pegs, and want to part with them would you?! I'm looking for a set for the salesman that sold me my bike... He has an '08 an his pegs are missing.
