New 2013 FJR1300 has arrived.

I'm sure we all have seen demonstrations where 100 lb girls pick up those monster Harley touring bikes with next to no effort. Those things are nearly nine times their body weight. It's all about technique and you shouldn't have to strain yourself to do it.

I should probably learn that technique properly, might come in handy

It's super easy, grab the handle bar on the side that is down, put your butt on the edge of the seat and grab either the passenger bar or the rear peg, start walking backward

He is 65yrs old and has had heart surgery ,I am 60yrs, metal heart valve, dicky back & shoulders from pro fishing and a herina, but saying all that I can pick up my FZ1s [slipped ass over on wet grass].I don`t understand people the older they get the bigger/heavier the bike they buy.

Im not that old but I have a bad back and knees. My bike is close to 700lbs.
I wouldnt trade it for anything.

I dont buy any bike based on if I can pick it up. I ride with intent not to go down.

Nobody does, but it can easy happen, usually while stopping ,gravel, wet grass:D etc, short legs and high seat height doesn`t help

There are only two types of motorcycle riders, ones who have fallen off and ones who are going too:rolleyes:

Well here in the US I would rather buy a Super Tenere, because a lot of gravel roads which are a lot of fun with the right equipment and the Tenere is great for touring too. That said unfortunately the ST is very heavy as well, I would love to have the smaller model but it is not available here in the US. In death valley I would have loved to have a good adventure bike, riding gravel with the Fz1 sucks.
