My Gen 1 build

Started out a sad boring bike with some bumps and bruises, but had ridiculously low miles. 2400. Then after a new front fairing, some body work, and some mods. She is a shining star with a proud owner. Here are some pictures when I got her. I got it from a young kid who didn't know how to use a clutch. And his driveway was a steep hill. He didn't make it far. And his mom wanted it gone. And I got it for cheap.

First I got a new front fairing , ditched the side fairings, added smoked flush mounts, and a new mirror. All OEM. If anyone wants to buy the side fairings pm me... uploadfromtaptalk1405475208531.jpguploadfromtaptalk1405475238101.jpg
 
Then this past early spring I was dying to fix the dent in the tank. So I sprung and did a complete custom paint job. I do need to wetsand and pin stripe it then reclear, wetsand and buff. But for now this will do. uploadfromtaptalk1405475832686.jpg

I also airbrushed in the Yamaha logos. Masked off the white and sprayed the candy orange. uploadfromtaptalk1405476322789.jpg

Finally got her all together. Until winter when I sand lay some stripping, reclear then wetsand and buff. I will get some better pictures in the sun. The late night dark picture doesn't do it justice. uploadfromtaptalk1405476785548.jpg

You don't have to tell me bud! In fact, it's even worse for you I'd imagine cause the winter sets in even sooner up there than down in the city. Gotta get your rides in now while the weather is good. I love the scenery up there! Beautiful.

I also cleaned up the rear end of her. Put some led blinkers on too. I got a set of 4 to replace the flush mounts in the front. I don't like them as much as I thought I would. I'll put those on eventually. uploadfromtaptalk1405546793757.jpg
 
Hey guys I appreciate the compliments. There are still some things I want to do. Tinted windscreen, install my new led front blinkers, paint some of the smaller pieces, mirrors, bar ends, levers. But one thing at a time. If I do it all at once I'll end up selling it to start over on something else again.

I too have been contemplating replacing the flush mount front signals, as much as I like the way they look from a safety point of view they suck. At night they are visible but during the day I doubt a car could see them from opposite side of an intersection.

Yeah I know they're not visible during the day. I actually had a women flip me the bird because she thought I wasn't using my signal. And its just another reason for a cop to pull me over.
 
Yeah it was my wife that flipped me the bird lol she thought I was going past driveway as did not see signal and I turn in and scared the crap out of her.
That is when I realized that during the day they are useless.
And 100% on a reason to be pulled over, I am just not sure which signal to switch to?
