I love my new OHLINS rear shock!

Is that a new model Ohlins. I notice the preload adjuster is on the shock?. If your looking at doing an R1 fork conversion go with 07-08 forks. I was looking to do this mod but ended up re-valving rebound and Ohlins springs. The R1 07-08 forks use 24mm cartridges instead of 20mm which offer better feel and adjustment. They are use heavier springs 9.5nm if i remember correctly which will work perfect if your 85-95kg & 6-pot radial brakes which will give you even better stopping. I maybe will do this mod as well next year if i can squeeze some $ from somewhere.

thanks for your feedback corcerning forks.
I've watched some used forks last months and i'm in doubt.
R1 04-05 complete with pin and calipers, about 500€
R1 07-09 complete with calipers from 900 to 1200€

More different prices but is really needed a new forks?
After last 1000kms and last trackday, I'm really enjoing my bike.
It's so much better than stock, with Pirelli diablo corsa and Ohlins shock.
During the last trackday I went so faster than various R1, ninjas, Ducati...
I've good responce from our standard forks. I really need a new one?
And if I need it, I can buy an ohlins one with about the same money of R1 07-09 forks

yeah, preload adjuster is on the shock.
I don't know what model is, but i'm thinking is the first version. The new ,that you can looking on ohlins website, hasn't lenght adjuster but has a gold preload parts with external adjuster with a long connection.

Look on Ebaymotors i see full front-end 07-08 R1 for $500USD incl calipers. If you buy a complete front-end you can swap the master-cylinder over which looks 100% better than the FZ1. For an alternative look into a Race-tech rebound gold valve kit= you will only need one but the kit comes with 2, maybe someone else on this forum may want to buy the other one off you. Get correct spring rates for you, fresh oil,seals and set the bike up properly. I did'nt bother with comp as rebound was the main problem on the FZ1. The front-end feels 100% better. Set the sag, set comp 1/2 out and. rebound is the hardest and most important. It will take to long to explain rebound properly, a easier way is go on youtube and look up suspension setup. Remember the front-end will feel stiff with cold oil so do 15-20km's stop and then check setup especially rebound. Ive done heaps of trackdays with the FZ1 and she carves up, lower the gearing= this is a must, unless the circuit has a ridiculous long straight you will hold you own. Another thing experiment with raising the forks 5-6mm through the trees= this will make steering a little quicker. Sorted

Yeah we have really beautiful roads and places to visit!!!
I've mod last post with english translation...:nana:

In this particular crisis years is easy to find special parts, with low mileage, at less half of its list prices.
You only need to look very often in sales between private and have patience until you find what you want at the price you want.

You will see in the next weeks my last super purchase for my FZ1. if you have a few coins in the piggy bank to spend on your bike, this is the best time to buy :kuku:

Nice. I have a set of Rizoma risers waiting to do their thing, just waiting on some funds to build then I'm going to get some bars to complete the set-up. The Rizoma bars look sweet. I really don't like the stock bars at all, to much sweep back (not sure if that's the best way to describe it, but I don't find them to be comfortable to me). Let's see those wheels on the bike!

the hands positions doesn't change so much, they are only 10+mm down than original bar.
I can't test them because i'm waiting April for spring, with the sun & flowers ehehehe

hey guys some works to verify the work to do for the sprocket support and the new disk.
FZ1 sprocket support is more large than R1, I'll have to do a billet spacer put the sprocket inline with the chain.
On the front I've to decide what kind of disk use, the original one with spacer or realize a couple of new billet disk internal parts to connect into the wheel holes.
