Hello!

I have been looking into getting a new bike for this coming up season and I have been looking here and there for a 07-09 FZ1. My search ended today when I made a deal on a 08 Red FZ1 with 4,000 miles in MINT condition. The previous owner barley rode it hard at all as the tires are not even scrubbed 1/2 a inch to the end. The knobs are still on the ends of the tires!

The shop will be delivering it sometime next week then its a long wait till mid April till the snow, ice and salt go away.

First mods will be sliders, the highway pegs I've heard about, a sargent seat and a slipon, I'm eyeballing the akrapovic. After that Ill adjust ergos some more if needed, then go from there.

I'm looking forward to getting to know my new girl.

Previous bikes:
2000 Ninja 500
2003 Honda F4i
2001 Aprilia Falco SL1000R
2001.5 Aprilia RSVR Mille
2006 Suzuki SV650S

Current:
2008 FZ1

Gen II vs Gen I :-)

Great news Vamp! I'm happy that you found what you were looking for. Don't worry buddy, as Spring is literally right around the corner! Here in NY, it will be hitting the 50's three days next week! Good luck with your new ride.

:welcome: to the madness and congrats! We'll be interested to hear how this stacks up against some of your past rides. You're going to LOVE this bike. :D

Thanks all!

With this bike purchase I was looking to still have a sport bike but not being all crunched up laying over the tank.

Glad you found a good deal. The FZ1 is about the most versatile bike I can think of. I'm sure you'll love riding it and modifying it to make it your own. I picked up an '07 last October and got to ride it just enough to taunt me all winter.

I picked up the T-Rex sliders (they seem to be out of stock now, but are only $13) and some Fire Dragon Brother's levers. I'm happy with both. Mine came with a Corbin seat, which I've loved for the short time I've had it, although I've only ridden for 2-3 hours at a time.

Keep us posted with some pictures on the progress. Congrats on getting a great bike.

That is a beautiful bike sitting next to a very beautiful bike. I would love to have one of those 09 R1 Ravens sitting in my garage next to my Fz1. So sexy. Enjoy your new toy!

Hello

Hi Vampyre, I love your new girl, she looks brand new. FZ1s are comfortable and practical street rideable bikes not like R1s, but with an R1 motor and wheels we all have the best of both worlds. Good luck.
