so close to you Johnny:-( I know perfectly what it means.A real child,part of family that leaving you makes a great hole..They lives less than us so when I loose my Flender I didn't want another to never repeat a so hard experience.. I'm sure that with you and your family Nikki had a wonderfull life..be proud of this...is the only consolation..

Thanks every one for the kind replies. My wife says it best "I come home and there is this feeling that something is missing". We do have another not so smart but very lovable Black Lab Dante, he even seems a little disorientated.
