Just installed a PC3. Mods are smaller flies, lars airbox, pc3, Micron full exhaust, k&n filter.

Bike is taking 1-2 seconds longer to start now than it used too...

Using Dukes perfection map.

Anyone know whats wrong?

Last time I looked at the perfection map he had a lot of negative numbers in the 0% throttle position in the 1000 rpm to 2000pm range.

Take a look at your map and try changing the 0% numbers back to zeros. You may not be getting enough fuel at start up/ idle.

I put those all at 0 because it was loping like a drag car at idle.

I set the open and close points as per ivans directions on the other forums sticky...

It should not have been loping at the approriate idle speed. You may have to reset your closed point at the right idle speed. This may change with map choice and any alterations you do to the map. If you adjust the map and it lower or raise you idle speed you then need to adjust your idle screw and reset your closed point. Simple enough

Well I am using the Perfection map. It was way into the negatives at idle. I set my idle speed so that the computer was indicating between 1250-1300 like the instructions said.

Once I 0'd out the idle column the idle went back to normal.

If its only taking 1-2 seconds longer to start it may not be worth worrying about.
You could also try adding fuel in the 0% 1000-1750 rpm range. I think I've heard some of Ivans maps add fuel at idle.

I'm not familiar with the PCIII. I tough there's a way to adjust the start up fuel. Maybe you can add some...?

I'm not sure about the pcIII but with the pcv you can add start up fuel either by run time ( like 10% more fuel for 30 seconds ) or you can hook up to the temperature sensor and add fuel by percentage dependent on temp.

That's what I did on mine before I add the MAP sensor (needed the channel) I did adjust the trim through the whole range by 10F increment. But in your case adding a bit of fuel just on start up should be good enough.

Sooo.. IF I start it while the tach is doing its sweep, it fires up fast.

Normally I used to let it do the complete sweep then I would start it. If I let it finish its sweep, it takes longer.

Read somewhere on another forum for another bike that the computer is doing its thing and then finishes, so if you hit it after the sweep the computer has to do its thing again so that is the extra time. No idea if that's correct, but hitting it in the mid sweep process yields normal start up times which works for me!
