Kickstand issue…what to do?

Hey all,

Need a little help…

I just put on some new rearsets on my ‘09 FZ1, but now I found out that I can’t put the kickstand down with my boots while on the bike. 😳😳

The nub that sticks out is right under the new foot peg location but too short to access it with my boot.

Only thing I can SOMETIMES do is use the toe of my boot to push down on the kickstand pad and push it down enough where it will stay out for a second and then move my boot around the foot peg and push the kickstand the rest of the way open. However, most times, it folds back again and I have to try it again. 🙄

Has anyone else had this issue? How did you fix it?

I was wondering if an ‘09 R1 kickstand is longer and if it would fit the FZ? Anyone try that?

Any thoughts would be appreciated because this is a pain and I’d hate to go back to the stock rearsets.

Thanks,
Mat

I appreciate the thoughts. I do have a welder, but haven’t used it yet. LOL! But I have thought of extending the nub that you are supposed to use.

Or, maybe I can see if I can place the rearsets further back and that may fix the issue. I haven’t tried that and it just hit me.
