Just Bought a 2002 fz1

Welcome and congrats! The best thing you can do is change all the fluids and oils, as well as Air Filter, and Spark Plugs. The bike may be running perfectly at present but I like to start with a fresh slate when I buy a used bike or car for that matter. This way you can start a journal of your own. It won't hurt and at least you can then get on your own schedule for maintaining the bike.

Engine Oil: I use Mobil 1 Synthetic 4T or 20W50 (Non Energy Conserving)
Brake Fluid: D.O.T. 4
Anti Freeze: 50/50 Pre Mixed
Spark Plugs: NGK CR9E
Fork Oil: 5WT

Also Check:

Chain Slack: 1.6 to 2.0 Inches
EXUP Valve: If Past 11,000 Miles
Front and Rear Sprockets: for wear
Cables: Lube Clutch, Brake, Throttle Cables
Fuel Filter

I may have forgotten a couple of things but this should get you started. Maybe you can throw up some picks and some more details for us, like mileage and condition. Best of luck with the new ride!

o and the bike has 13k miles on it ill get some pics soon but the condition is good as i know nothing wrong with it so far
