hi all seen a coulpe of threads on here about people with cracked welds on frame just a bit of info for you
A friend of mine noticed he had an a cracked frame on his 06 mode,l cos it was out of warrenty did bother with yamaha uk came to see me about it for some advice so i informed him my mate does ali welding on mains gas pipes underground and they also exray them for weakness cut a long story short had the frame welded and exrayed for him and the result was terrible the welder informed me the quality of welding was very bad all welds had air pockets trapped in them apart from the one he repaired and and air expends under heat to get out (ie cracks weld) so had him check my 07 much the same but no cracks in my frame so out of curiosity had him check my honda vtr1000 fire storm frame the same result
so it seems like most bikes have the problem just they dont seem to surface much
