Here are some things you need to consider. Motorcycles that are sold in the US are typically a luxury item. Motorcycles sold everywhere else in the world are a person’s only mode of transportation and they ride them everyday rain or shine. Here is the US your motorcycle of choice is a status symbol. Over there, it’s transportation. I had a CBR1000RR that my twenty something son’s would borrow so they could cruze around with friends and look cool. But if they went with me on a long 4-8 hour day tour, they would fight over the FZ1. I am 55, have been riding since high school and currently have a BMW R1200RT in my stable for vacation trips & dates (divorced) and the FZ1 for my daily commute of 70 miles per. Both bikes draw comments wherever I go. I sold my Harleys a long time ago because they don’t have the power and agility of a Sport Touring bike and am not old enough to own a Gold Wing yet. Besides, you do meet the friendliest people on a motorcycle.
