How much should an '06 FZ1 w/ average miles (10-15k) run me? I see all of these inflated craigslist prices and I'm wondering if I'm delusional or they are ~.~! People trying to sell their '06's for 3k less than its original MSRP LOL

If you are purchasing a 2006, keep $500 in the budget for a newer ECU from Yamaha. You can get by with the stock ECU on to 07-90 bikes but plan on a PC5 in your future.

New ECU? Gotta say beast that this is B.S. There are plenty of us happily riding around with the stock 06 ECU. The FCE will get rid of the snatch (that is still present on the newest ecus)and all years of this bike need some serious hard parts to really shine.

Perhaps you should just ride a "full package" bike instead of looking at the computer screen so much. . .

I purchased my 06 with 12k miles 2+ years ago for $3400 on Ebay with minor cosmetic issues. I then added $4k in upgrades to improve power & power delivery, handling, comfort, utility and looks! Wonderful machine now! . . .Get the early bike at a low price and mod away . .

Depending on mileage and mods you should expect to pay $4-4.5k for an '06. Obviously your location will dictate the price as well...good luck in your search.

I will stand by the ECU suggestion.
