Hi Guys,
My fz is all stock and I intend to do most of the performance mods.I have had a good scroll through all the threads but I can't seem to find an answer. My question is how much modding can you do before you really need a pc3 and also before doing any harm to the bike by running it too lean.
I have just ordered a leo vince slip on so should have it next week.So would it be ok to gut the cat and do the airbox mod without a pc? I'll be de-screening the stock air filter for now aswell.
It'll be a few months before I can afford a pc and dyno so thats why I'm asking,Cheers..

I wouldn't gut the cat without a pc, it really increases air flow. the air box and a slipon would be as far as i would go since the slipon will already get rid of the exup. If you can atleast get a tuner you can find maps to load yourself without going to a dyno that will be better than no tuner at all. And on a 2010 you need the PC V, not the PC III.

Cheers for the info Jim:tup:..I still have the pc software from a previous bike so I can load the maps myself,I wasnt aware that I needed a pc5...From what year on uses the pc5?..Thanks again Jim

It's Jeremy, lol. You can use the pc5 on any 2nd gen fz1. Think they say a pcIII is for 06-08 and a pcV is for 2009 and up. Can get both for close to the same price, so why not go with the better one. You can also download the software from dynojet's website and they usually have some maps available to.

Here is a thread i posted where i found a good price on them but its in the US.
