How did you pick your username?

My name is John, most friends call me Johnny. I'am a long time rock climber, johnnyontherocks is the first forum name I've used for a rock climbing site like 15 years ago.

LMAO, Under the circumstances I'd be extatic with sloppy too!

I flew helicopters in the Marine Corps and just like Topgun we all had "call signs" which were nicknames. They usually weren't real cool names (like Maverick or Viper) but for something goofy we did or a play on your real name. When I checked into my squadron, some of the senior pilots went to Quantico VA and first heard the Adam Sandler Cafeteria Song with the chorus line "sloppy Joe, slop sloppy Joe". When they came back (my first name is Joe) they called me Sloppy and it stuck. I went home and told my ex that I received my call sign. She didn't like it but when I told her that Roid's name was given to him because he had a hemorrhoid removed and that Stain received his called sign because they found a stain in his underwear when they deployed a couple of years earlier she changed her mind and enthusiasm about my call sign.:)

I am theWolfTamer because of Lupus SLE (theWolf). I was diagnosed in late 2004 and then went into a Lupus Depression that turned into a flare in my brain that sent me tumbling through all the years of my life. When I came out of it, I wasn't quite myself but I joined forums anyway using my middle name for a screen name. Then I started taking CellCept and got off of the steroids and gradually started coming back to myself or Taming theWolf. In celebration, I declared myself theWolfTamer and changed screen names on all of the forums. Then I started a blog.

Blah, I thought for sure you'd have a better story than that!

I literally made mine up years ago. No story. Was Haileyan but now use Hail on most boards. I just made something up that would pretty much guarantee I can use the same name in every forum and game I play without contention.

See there's a good story :)

That's an awesome story!!!
Good for you!!

Got stuck with my name in college.

Everyone took Latin as the required language. While the guys called me Jeffy, because it sounded like a little kid's name in contrast to my size, I was 6'4" 250+lbs., one day in light of the Latin bit, someone added -ibus to my name. (it's used in the 3rd and 4th declensions for the ablative and dative cases)

It doesn't carry any special meaning unless you want to use my name as an indirect object or as an adverb.

Mine's really pretty stupid, but here it is, for what it's worth.

Back in the mid 90's I was in Chiropractic College. The internet was just hitting the mainstream or a bit pre-mainstream. I was playing a lot of Quake 1 online with a capture the flag threewave mod (great times). I needed a screen name, and a very common TV informecial was all over for the Bedazzler, a device that would attach rhinestones and other adornments to you clothes...

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZW9_f2eylhQ]YouTube - K-tel "BeDazzler" commercial[/ame]

I have a bit of a twisted, ironic type sense of humor and I took "B-Dazzler" as a name (dropped the 'e' for some reason) for playing Quake. After I fragged someone, it would say "You were killed by B-Dazzler", which to me, was funny. Sometimes I'd even smart off with "You've just been... B-Dazzled". :wtf: Sounds so stupid to type it out... :embarrased:

After that, anytime I needed an online name, I just went with B-Dazzler and have since dropped the '-' for simplicity. At least I didn't go with Flowbee... (hair cut clippers that attach to a vacuum cleaner... I won't even post the videos of that)

PS No, I have never owned or used a Bedazzler :disapproval:

Quite obvious for me... FZ1 in New Hampshire, much like Billy. I used to be FZ6inNH but those days are over. ;) I have a different name for forums outside of the FZ#-Forum group. I belong to 7 forums outside of the five FZ forums I am a member of. Each with a name that belongs to that forum's specialty.

Mostly though, outside of all forums, I am and always have been "toyohtadude" toyotadude was taken in too many places so I added in the "H" in memory of the old "Oh what a feeling..." Toyota commercials. With a few exceptions, I've owned and driven Toyota vehicles since 1984 when I bought my first $5,995 mini new off the lot.

I was wondering if your name was related to the infomercial.
LOL
This is my favorite infomercial :D

"You asked for it... you got it... Toyohta!(man)" ;)

New slogans considered for Toyota...
  • There's no stopping us!
  • Give us a brake! (no, really!)
  • Toyota, always on the move.

:jk: My mom drives a 4-door 4x4 Tacoma pick up. This is her second one. First in white, now the new model in red. They do make bullet proof engines, but they are $proud$ of their stuff...

LOL (and I honestly, really laughed out loud) :jaw drop: I had never seen that one. Who wouldn't want a titty bear : oops: I think I misspelled that... :nothing:

I love it's mostly women in the add and so many of them must get 'pressure' right in the mittle : oops: of their chest!

I sense a name change! :hook2:

LOL! I can't watch 'em at work but I will when I get home.

The claims are comical at best... I've never had a problem with any of them and won't consider anything but... :D No worries! I hear it all the time. ;)
