Sorry in advance, but I didn't start taking pics until halfway done...
Found a flat piece of stainless laying around (looks like it was a commercial grade drip pan or something) and decided to use it to ditch the passenger pegs.
I started by tracing the general "V" shape around the old pegs onto a piece of cardboard, then cut. IMPORTANT: I left a little extra length at bottom to account for it shortening after necessary bends. I approximated those bends by putting a couple of creases in the cardboard. Then traced my cut out onto metal sheet and cut with a jigsaw, got rough bends in that and ended up here...
Rounded edges and sharp corners, drilled mounting holes AFTER making sure bends were right, and ended up here...
It looked a lil' heavy, so I made some adjustments...
And the final product.
