Yes its definitely worth the trip. As greasemonkey said you can spend a day in there and not catch everything. Its a blast and a huge learning experience.
I think I will. Might have to wait another year because I plan on touring the SW and Cali this summer. Next year I want to get across the country as far as the NE and back down to the Tail of the Dragon.
I like hearing where everybody has been and what is truly worth it or not.
Absolutely first-rate. I have been several times - the Oktoberfest is a great time to go, but they also have great racing in the spring. The owner is often on the floor and available and eager to talk with visitors. It is state of the art. Exhibits change regularly. There is even a car section in the basement with various race cars. They start the cars and bike up every now and then. George Barber also a huge landscaping business and has had the grounds designed to look an English garden. You can see much of the track from the 4-story museum.
It is quite laid back with lovely hillsides to sit on and watch the races.
George told me a neat story: When Morbidelli was still alive he had a beautiful, small garage and design studio. When he died George met with his wido. She arranged for Barber to acquire the entire shop and stock, which Barber reproduced down to the last detail. That beautiful Morbidelli V8 is on display:
i'm trying to find a way to get down to barber to do a track day and visit the museum. it is worth it. have had many friends go and show me pictures and its pretty amazing
