How does the front end behave without the fairing and stuffI bought my 01 FZ when it was already dropped by the previous owner and the headlights and front fairing were already gone. I added a $20 universal street fighter headlight that clips onto the fork tubes with rubber straps but the headlight position and light output was awful. I mounted a cheap LED projector inside of the housing and it's pretty decent, not great for dark night time rides but usable. The OEM gauges were ditched for a TrailTech vapor which required some minor splicing of the gauge harness but not too bad and it works great! I have it secured with heavy duty Velcro to the GYTR riser which has a flat surface - though this wouldn't work with the stock riser/bar setup.
It's not a bad look and not expensive just requires some time. I'll eventually post some more detailed photos.
What exactly do you mean? It rides absolutely fine. Like any other fully naked bike it's comfortable up until about 60 mph where beyond that the wind shakes the helmet around pretty bad. Other than that it's fine.
