Gen II rims on a gen I

Probably not without doing a fork conversion in the process. Thanks to forum member "Devilsyam" , I'm doing an 08 R1 conversion to my 01 FZ1.

There is a thread on doing an R1 conversion by "wolftamer" that has a link to a UK site that does an excellent job of the different paths one can take.

The rear wheel is probably just a matter of a spacer, to mount but you still have to find a rotor of same size and mounting pattern to fit. Same holds true for front wheel, if you do not decide to do usd conversion.

Now, if you have access to a machinist to fab parts, that opens up the door to possibilities, but you may be slightly ahead in the end when it comes to the finished product in terms of cost. When it is better looking, imho, to have the usd forks.

Good Luck!

Measure them and see. Many Yamaha spacings are very close to one another. I put an FJ600 wheel on my XV920R and used two stainless steel washers to get the correct spacing.
