Gen II Idle Screw

Where is it? My Gen II idles at about 800 and I want to get her up into the proper range. Just bought it a week ago and a service manual is on the way.

Be careful adjusting as you *can* back that all the way out and it's a bear to get threaded back in.

Thanks for the heads up, took the adjustment just north of 1K. It's an interesting feeling adjusting it because of the cable, it takes a signifcant rotation 1/4 turn before it moves the screw.

Newbie question...
I've read that adjusting the idle slightly higher can help smooth the transition between gear changes. Is this true, and if so, what RPM is reasonable to adjust to? Also, is this my idle screw in the attached image??? Thanks in advance for all your help!

Yep that's the one, I wouldn't think it would help on the transition unless you are completely closing off the throtle at shift points.

I have mine set at 1250 to 1300 RPMs. That seems to be the sweet spot and what most recommend.
