gen 2 slip-on fitted to gen 1?

I'm wondering if any one has done this? I hate how long the slip-on pipes are on the gen 1's so I want the gen 2 version.

Cut the midpipe or the can, or look at a MIVV gp shorty from pjsparts.com.

It's certainly not a direct bolt on by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm sure the Gen I mid-pipe can be modified to allow a Gen 2 muffler to bolt on (well maybe more like weld on).
