*Rear Suspension Arm Failures* PLEASE READ - Yamaha FZ8 Forums - International FZ8 Motorcycle Community Forum

Hey guys... Please read the above thread over on FZ8 site. Seems we are getting a trend going on about these arms failing. Not too good... Since the bikes are so similar, have any of you seen this on the FZ1??? I know the shocks are directly swappable, so I am wondering if that whole setup is the same...? Could someone snap some pics of theirs and if anyone could maybe get some measurements as well? I wonder if the arms are the same part between the two and something else in the system is causing it to fail?

Thanks for any help.

Jay

2013 Fazer 8 at just under 8000km (~5000 miles) and going.

Rider weight with full gear: 185 lbs
Even did a bit of bumpy unpaved road.
Suspension settings: stock
No mods, bike is OEM except for frame sliders and radiator guard.

No problems on the relay arm so far, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks.

I'm almost same as 671 in my stats. Mileage weight etc. Wifeys rides it more as its hers but we ride plenty of sh*t roads rear shock is 1 click above stock.
Nothing to indicate any type of failure there.
I am starting to think it may be bleeding fuel off into the cylinders as it sits though.
