So when I installed the k&n into the wifes fz8 I managed to stripped one of the screws. Does the fz1 airbox fit the fz8? I think I can get a fz1 box cheaper.

Only the first part of the part numbers for the lower box are different. I read somewhere here that this only referred to the year introduced? Tried a search to find that but couldn't.

The 8 also doesnt have the sensor in the lid that the 1 does. That would require a different part number

Buy a slightly larger screw, its plastic.

Didnt know top and bottom were different part numbers.
She talked me into modding the box top to get the filter in and I don't like how ot came out so I was gonna get a different one and try again.
