Since having my 2007 FZ1S Fazer serviced and MoTd in March I have noticed a tube hanging down from the engine (see attached).

Does anyone know what this is for and if it is ok to cut it shorter?

That is a fuel tk vent. No harm if you cut it shorter. Just make sure it doesn’t drain onto the exhaust, linkage bearings or “curl” up to where it can get stuck on something.

You usually only see anything come out when it’s hot as hell out after you run the bike. The pressure inside the tank mixed with heat sometimes “burps” a little fuel out.

I would chase it back to its origin to make sure it's still attached and routed properly before cutting it shorter, but I wouldn't want it hanging that low all the time.

It's a boy! Hung like Spaghitti unfortunately.

I'm guessing it's not routed right, usually they hang around things so they don't don't hang loose like that. Be sure to check before trimming it.
