FZ1 Winter Project Completed

Im not big on hard bags but man that looks good...

I've always thought the same - mainly because I am a form over function guy - I would rather sacrifice comfort to make sure it looks good. I had originally planned on only running the smuggler occasionly, and the hard bags rarely if ever. After a few weeks of using them off and on I've found that I will be using them more than I thought.

The only time I will take the smuggler off is if I have to put my passenger seat on - it works great for my sunglasses, camera, and other stuff. The racks come on and off in a couple of minutes (only four lock nuts), so it makes it easy for me to take them if I'm going on a little longer ride where I might want to change gear, or an extra helmet - or potentially see some cool gear at a distant bike shop, I have a place to put it. It's really nice not always having to wear my backpack - now it is my "option" instead of mandatory storage.

I just noticed they let you put other bikes besides just FZ1's in there as well. Maybe I'll enter my VTX 1800 as well.

I haven't been on the forum for a while. I will probably submit a MBOM photo sometime soon. I sold my VTX and bought a Harley Rocker and have been customizing it this winter (should be done in March or April). I also just bought a track bike (a 2000 R1) and am planning on signing up for at least 3 weekends this summer.

That first picture dropped my jaw to the floor, damn bike looks so sexy, I'm so jealous...I hate you lol... =O)

LOL. I am really pleased, I've gone as far with it as I plan to go for a while. I did a lot of reading before I started ordering stuff for it. This site and the guys on it have been great.

My plan for this year is to add a SW Motech luggage rack and next year put on the SW Motech brackets and Givi v35 bags. I am going to see about getting a vinyl wrap for the saddlebags. The plan is to put white where you did but also add the red and black stripe trim on the front bottom portion to blend them in with the rest of the bike.
You could just add the trim to the painted portion of your bags.
