FZ1 vs R1 engine

i am not quite sure of exactly what separates the fz1 engine from the r1 engine there is a local seller selling a 2003 r1 engine with wire harness throttle bodies, i know the engine isnt a direct swap but could i rob the parts needed out of the R1 engine to get the benefits? any insight would be appreciated

The simple answer is no. There are parts you could use, but not nealy enough.

And the R1 engine that shares parts with the Gen II FZ1 is the '04-06, not the '03...
