Hello and let's go straight to the topic.
Before last summer I've changed oil from yamalube 10w40 FS to Castrol 10w50 FS and then, after about 500km engine start producing ticking noise. I thought it's valve service time but my mechanic told me today that valves are ok. Ticking gets worst when bike its wormed. Maybe to cure this noise I should fill engine with 10w40 again? Please help

Yamaha FZ1 Fazer valve noise - YouTube this engine is ticking same as mine.

I get a noise similar to that and my local shop told me it was the cam chain tensioner. He said there is something to the heat of the engine and oil pressure that contributed to it but I didn't understand exactly what he was saying.

hmmm strange. I try to fill engine with 10w40 same oli what it was in it after I bought whole bike and post here results. If you guys have any further ideas keep posting. thanks

My 2010 does it too when it gets hot. Methinks its oil change time. Normally hushes the ticking noise a little, but then again its a bike engine, and they do tend to make odd noises for no reason. Nothing to worry about bud.

My little ride was starting to rick too at idle. More at start up, espacielly on a warm engine. I change the cam tensionner and its all fix. $75.00 or so and 15 - 20 minutes fix ( taking my time...)

I use this product 1/2 the container every oil change & the engine is smooth as butter, its wet clutch safe, I also use it with Mobil 4T- 10w-40 (motorcycle specific full synthetic) :2cents:

Liqui-Moly Racing Bike Oil Additive
