FZ09, Street Triple, MV Brutale TEST

before I even read this, they are going to to complain about the Yamaha suspension and twitchy throttle but rave about how it rips around.

The MV is a little edgy and the Striple is going to be smooth but just leaving the rider wanting something more.

Now let's find out what they had to say.

EDIT: and I was right.
Also if you look at it, the Fz-09 is $2500 less than the striple and $4000 less than the MV. You could get a Racetech fork rebuild and Penske rear shock for $1500ish and still have $1000 for leather onesies. Everybody complains about the Yamaha twitchy throttle, but it doesn't bother me on the Fz1, just requires more effort on the riders part to be smooth. I wish that the throttle itself had better feel to it, and it was easier to adjust.

The 9 is a blast to ride. Throttle is a bit twitchy because of the fuel cut off that is required to pass Euro pollution standard. It's all about throttle control in my opinion and the biggest is if you can't be smooth with the throttle with almost 50 ft.lb of torque at 2K RPM, pretty much right off idle... well ya, it's twitchy! LOL Mode A map is very aggressive and the front end come up with a blip of throttle around 5K in firs gear.

Suspension might not be perfect for aggressive riding in the twisties or race track... but that's about the same for 80% of the bikes out there. If some think the 9 as bad suspension... coming off the FZ6R it's like trading in a minivan for a sportscar.

Just like you said, at $8K ($9300 OTD) I have no complain. Yamaha did a great job on this bike. Looks might not be for everyone but the bike look much better in person. And once your a$$ is on the saddle and you twist the throttle... look doesn't matter. That bike is a blast to ride. In the hands of a good and experience rider the FZ-09 can cream about 1/2 if not most of the mid size SS out there.
