Fork service with new progressive rate spring - what oil grade?

Just about to buy some replacement Eilbach fork springs for my Gen 1 FZ1 and was wondering if the 5W orig spec oil will do or of a diff grade is better

Definitely go with the stock weight oil.

my hyperpro springs came with 10w oil, It's an improvement over stock (serviced who knows when) but still not impressed with it.

hyperpro also gave precise air gap instructions and settings ( i didn't follow exactly)

You can always just make a smaller change and go with the 7.5w oil. You probably won't notice much of a difference since you are putting new springs in - What I mean by that is you won't notice unless you try both weights with the same set of springs... It is going to be a heavier shock regardless.
