Ever got pulled over by the POPOs & why?

T-Racy, Trouble & Me...

2013 was an expensive year ...
1 felony evasion charge (later dropped by the state when Barney's statement didn't quite jive with the dash cam... Whatta dumbass) You know it's gonna get expensive when the first thing you hear him say is "why did you run from me?". It really gets expensive when he gets pissed off when you tell him "I stopped just as soon as I saw you."
81 in a 60 from Barneys cousin, total of 3 citations later whittled away in city court and safety course. Oh, and Mr A, thanx for mot running from me... ;-(
99 in a 60 crossing the Mobile BayWay. I was late for my sons wedding in Orange Beach so T-Racy had her ears pinned back... Really kewl state tropper though. I laughed when he said he saw me crank on it making my pass & he really thought I was gonna run from him... Not only NO but hell NO.

I've been pretty lucky on the bike. I've been pulled over a few times but haven't been booked as the cops were pretty cool with me.
I got let off with warnings.

Runninnnnnnnnn......

A long time ago (in my late teens) I was comming out of the woods on my first motocross bike a 77 Honda CR125 and crossing the local elementary school parking lot on the way to another woods trail and out of nowhere in my peripheral vision I see the white front fender of a KZ900 Police bike - never even turned my head just pinned it and hit the trail through the woods down the Main Street to my street and into the shed in my back yard. Nothing like doing 60 on pavement on fully knobbies but I was very motivated to not get caught. I got lucky. I have friends who have run on their street bikes but nothing i would do today its a different world today and the cost and risk is way too high. Heck I dont even ride or drive very fast anymore. been to too many 10-50s as a firefighter, it's not worth it...

Being sick in bed all last week I got to thinking about this more.

So by vehicle:

1) 1970 VW Squareback, 18, YO, 1982? (I hate to admit this..:shaking head:) smoked pot with my buddies, driving to the bowling alley thought the police pulled me over. My buddies laughing at me. I NEVER, EVER, NEVER EVER smoked pot again in my life. Stupid...

2) 1973 Yamaha TX500, 18 parked on West Colfax, Ave, Denver, 1983, watching the cruisers. My buddy and I were given tickets for "trespassing." We were sitting on a used car lot's fence watching the girls and the hot cars. West Colfax Brenda, not East...

3) 1978 Toyota Celica, 1983 - 72 in a 55 in Indian country in Arizona. I never paid the ticket. I assume I have a warrant out for my arrest.

4) 1982 Yamaha ZX550 - I don't recall a ticket, crashed however...and was shot at in rural Wyoming during the same trip to Jackson Hole.

5) 1981 Suzuki GS1100EX - 1985? Fort Collins, CO, ticket for 1) 75 in a 45, failure to stop, reckless driving, and I'm sure something else. The officer had no evidence what-so-ever. I admitted to 54 in a 45. (I was going 105) :)

I don't recall any others. I'm sure I'm wrong. That bike was simply wicked. I did dump her at about 85, cracked the case, and slid in 4 quarts of oil for about 200 meters into a curb. Ooops. Don't do stoppies on cold tires.

6) RD400 - Race bike, 1) Tucked the front end in the "Rat's Nest" at Second Creek Raceway in Denver.

7) RZ350 - Race Bike 1) Knocked down at Aspen Raceway, 2) I know repaired the tank and fairing at least twice - I don't remember the crashes, 3) Massive highside at between 110 and 125 at Firebird Raceway in Phoenix. Five broken ribs, clavicle, scapula, concussion, roadrash, glasses glass embedded in face. Glass came out of skin up to 4 years later!!!

8) 1986 VW Golf (GTi Suspension and Grill) - Don't recall any tickets, but we used to do Copper Mountain on HWY 6 to Boulder on three wheels once a weekend.

9) 1986 Isuzu Trooper - You've got to be kidding me??? 85hp...

10) 1982 BMW 528e - Nope, eta's are slow...but 28 mpg!

11) 1969 Porsche 912 - Nope, but what a fun car! Totally built.

12) 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 - Oh, god no! What a POS.

13) 1987 Porsche 911 Targa - I must have gotten a ticket. 3.2 Euro Hi Comp Pistons, SC Cams, Ported, SSI exhaust, custom chip, Ti bits, full on suspension. ROCKED!!!

14) 1994 Chevy Suburban - What? It was on the shop the whole time...American carp.

15) 2002 Porsche 997 Carrera - HOLEE CRUD! 1) 72 in a 60, don't remember any others, but was electronically limited at 172.

16) 1999 BMW 528i - Wonderful car! 1) I was pulled over three times within 45 minutes. I was at work and got the call my National Guard unit was activated for Hurricane Katrina. I was in Austin, my unit was in Dallas, 210 miles. I was going about 85, pulled over. Showed the trooper my orders, he let me go. Pulled over the second time. Showed the Sheriff my orders. Pulled of the third time about 10 minutes later. The Police Officer escorted me within his jurisdiction, at 125!!!

17) 2003 MB E500. Oh, what a car! V8, air suspension. Massive torque. What? No tickets? Ex got in divorce. Oh well...

18) 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 4X4 Z71 - Nice truck, gas pig.

19) 2007 Yamaha FZ6 - 1) Speeding 96 in a 55. The only thing that got me off from going to jail was my assault pack and my military ID! Oh, and a power wheelie at 65 mph. Ooops.

20) 2009 Chevy Malibu LTZ - Nope...

21) 2008 Buell 1125R - Nope

22) 2006 FZ1 - 94 in a 65. Really I was going about 142m mph one hill prior to being tagged.

23) 2010 Infiniti G37 Sedan - Pulled over in Western OK about one year ago coming back from New Mexico. I think he thought I was drunk. In the middle of the night I see four headlight coming up on my ass FAST! I get out of his way and he pulls me over. Family in the car, skiis on the roof. He tells me I can't drive with my fog lights on. WTF???

24) 2012 Aprilia Tuono V4R - Nope, but I know it will go at least 134.

25) All other bikes, nope. Kinda slow really, and the R6 is a track bike

26) 2013 Moto Guzzi Stelvio NTX - Not yet, but will go 122ish with off road tires!

^^^^^^^ I only put my fz1 cop encounter up.
If I did every single one for every car/bike I've owned, I'd be typing for days. Suffice it to say, from the time I got my license to the age of 21-22 I was stupid, speeding, burnouts, drifting, wheelies etc. I've been incredibly lucky to have never been caught for the more extreme stuff I've done (220km/hr in a 60)

I'm even more lucky that I'm not dead a dozen times over!!!

Lets see..couple angles. Never stopped on the bike...yet. Several tickets in vehicles when I was delivering pizzas. Last two stops I ended up with an escort to my 20th HS reunion (so my hometown was about twice as big as it was when I left) on the first, and a stern warning for having two buddies sitting on the tailgate of my pickup on a backwoods forest road going through the redwoods.

The other angle. I think I only wrote 30 or so citations to motorcyclists, mostly for no endorsement or for speeds significantly lower than measured, and had a handful successfully elude me (what can I say, I was in a jeep). That was in 25 years of Sheriffin'.

My favorite: 5 vehicles left a bar at closing time. 3 went one way down a county road, one of them a motorcyclist. 1 turned off, so I was behind the motorcycle. I was busily watching both drivers for signs of intoxication when I noticed that the motorcyclist was riding with left foot and hand extended before he jumped up and was riding with both hands on the handlebars and his feet on the seat. I stopped him (direct pullover, removed helmet, and got his wallet out) and when I approached him, he said "Oh, ma'am, I was trying to impress this girl in this car, but I impressed the wrong girl in the wrong car!" Stone cold sober, and funny as heck.
