Did anybody ever did an oil filter change without removing the oil???

I mess it up.... again. I forgot to change the filter before replacing the oil on my FZ1.
Should I ride until next change with the old filter on? Or try to replace it without removing the oil? Or remove all the oil, replace the filter and pour it back???
Is not a big deal... but I am curios to find out if anybody here has done this beside me!

Just change the filter at the next oil change. I change filters every second oil change much of the time.

Unless they changed it, the owners manual from Yamaha shows changing the filter every other time anyhew. Not that I've ever done that, but just sayin'....

OK, thanks guys. But... I forgot to mention that the filter had been in there for more than one oil change already.
So I have drained the oil in a clean container , changed the filter and, poured the oil back in.
Happy riding to you all, out there in GA, NC and CA. Here in FL the wheatear is great now, I just wish we had some more curvy roads
