Daytona 500...boooorrrrring..

"When the come out of turn four they'll look like a covey of quails!" :confused0024:

A covey of quails??? WTF??? Should I get my shotgun out?

"They're sprinting for $200,000!" Umm looks like the rest of the race to me...50 dudes and a babe in a line.

"After 50% of the official race is complete it's complete!" Where on earth do they find these people???

Sounds just as boring as the local V8 Supercars, they follow each other around the track and hardly ever pass each other.

Car racing is pretty boring, period.

I feel your pain brother!!! We need to bring back the "moonshiners" with "stock cars" on dirt tracks!!!

"The system is perfected but they still have a few issues." So is it perfected or not???

"These engines don't like to run with low fuel pressure!" And there is a engine that does? It just gets better and better...

Real men would have raced in the rain yesterday.

Nice move Montoya,he hit the jet dryer to cause a 2 hour delay. Only reason I know is it was on the big screen at bowling tonight.

Glad I missed the whole thing...

Seriously NASCAR has become down right boring...so the big news is FI!

The C.O.T., while safer, makes all the cars look the same. They're just different colors and plastered with different decals. I stopped enjoying NASCAR in the 90's so now I don't even bother...

Yeah it was hysterical on how they were going on about "electronic fuel injection." My 1970 VW Squareback had that.

I'll have what Pete was drinking last night please.... LOL!

Yes, they are cookie cutter cars but it now is left to the hands of the drivers.... what yanks my chain is these restrictor plate races... let 'em go full speed! So what they would top 220 mph.... if they are that brave, then let 'em. No, gotta keep up all bunched up like a synchronized swimming show in Vegas.

This is why I like the short tracks... Daytona, Talledega and Pocono are all REALLY boring events... just hanging around watching to see IF the big crash happens. Give me the short tracks where they have to muscle a pass!

Moron Montoya made it most interesting. I suspect a rule change coming about how fast you can go to "catch the field" during a caution while safety crews are on the track. He had to be doing over 100 mph when the car broke. Idiot!

Welcome in the restriction plate "pack racing" world! The best racing in Daytona is the Bud Shootout. All those long race are dump. They draft and save fuel for about 450 miles, then race the last 50. So all they need to do is stay out of trouble and on the lead lap, then race on the last set of tires. I never got into Nascar wagon racing. Yep, funny stuff with the "fuel injection of 20 years ago in a car of tomorrow"

Look at tv rating and race attendance, there going down every year. People are getting tired of "Nascar grid generated" field and being sold some WWF racing.

Not because I use to work on those, but Indycar's have more to offer I believe. At lest it's real racing!

Me (holding the toolbox) on the grid at Homestead right before qualification. The good old days... miss it a lot!

Went to a party on a farm where smoked game meats and plenty of alcohol was flowing. I had two drinks, left before the race began and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Others started drinking Friday and I know they were in bad shape on Monday morning.
