Coolant dripping from what I believe is the overflow tube.. Just started doing this one day. The fz1 hadn't ran in a few days.. What could cause this to happen all of a sudden without the bike being ran for a few days?
Thanks,
Nate

Since there is a center stand I’ll assume this is a Gen 1. Which of the three hoses is dripping? The one that is straight cut or one of the two that is diagonally cut. The diag. cut are fuel over flow. I think you’re right that the straight cut is from the top of the radiator cap.

So is the dripping fluid gas or coolant. If it is the coolant over flow then the next step is take of the right fairing panel so you can access the radiator cap. See if the collant is right up to top. Also check overflow tank under the right side cover to make sure it is filled to correct level (about 1/3 full). You may have a bad cap or not.

If it’s fuel coming from the daig. cut tubes that usually happens when you over fill the gas tank and is no big deal.

I worked with an engineer who splashed a small amount of coolant in his mouth by mistake working under his car. He almost died. My advice would be to roll bike 10' forward and throw a match at the puddle. Follow the slash cut hose back to it’s origin and I think you’ll find it connected to the two ports on either side of the petcock under the tank.

If the bike is stored out side or saw a recent washing/down pour it's possible water got in around the fuel cap. Lift the fuel cap and you’ll see the two holes below the cap near the back.

Gen 2 has a center stand as well

GEN 2's have center stands stock.
