I bought the Comp Works flush front lights today. Pluged right in, however no steady marker light, only way too fast turn signals. I now see I need a relay, which sucks. Thanks dealer for not telling me about that. Will the realy make the lights stay on as well? Hope so, because they look great, but do not want to get pulled over for no marker lights. :cuss:

The addition of any LED signals always requires a relay so slow the blink rate. I've had success in the past using the EL12 flasher relay from Kragen auto parts. I think I paid like $10 for it...

And no, they will not work as marker lights with the relay. I choose to keep my stock front signals for this reason...

I just installed Proton Flushmonts on my Gen-I. They funtion as marker lights (and are very bright), and by using the supplied orange wire only, they blink at the 'regular' rate ! If you hookup the yellow wire they function as strobes when blinking. There is even a 'fade' feature to the blink if so desired. I love them and recommend them. No flasher-relay required.:icon_beer:

Question about your lights rx2ride? Are they two or three wire? If they are two wire, then you will need to connect one to signal hot and the other to running hot with no ground. If they are three wire, then there's no reason why they shouldn't function as running lights. As a for-instance, check out my pod light mod where I wired the pod lights for running lights but alternating blinkers using two wires. I still needed a relay though.

Do you have flush mounts on the rear? I've been debating whether to install flush mounts on my 2002 and want to install the least troublesome lights, but ones that function and look good. If you have rear flush mounts, what brand?
