I'm just curious if all GenII FZ1's behave the same way when it comes to clutch.

My clutch lever is adjusted to spec. Enough cable slack so that it's not pulling on the slave lever, no matter which way I turn the handlebar.

Clutch starts to grab quite close to the bar and the friction zone is veeery long. Excellent for slow speed meneuvers and traffic. Not great for super quick shifts. Of course it's possible to do clutchless shifting on this bike, but for full clutch disengagement, it requires a very long travel of the lever on mine. Can't do 2-finger clutching really.. not with long lever. Lever will bottom out on pinkie/ring finger before clutch is fully disengaged.

Does yours behave the same way?

Yea, mine is pretty much the same. And it's probably one of the reasons I didn't like the short levers on my bike.

I actually see that some people run a shorty brake lever and a long clutch lever...go figure.

OK.. so it's not just me :D

Yeah, I used to love shorty levers on my FZ6. Clutch on that bike was the polar opposite of FZ1.. it was more like an ON/OFF switch, and very far from the bar. Good luck in traffic, but awesome for 2-finger quick shifts.

I can easily attain maximum braking when I do my practice stops with just 2 fingers, so 2 is all I ever use, but I went with long/long for my aftermarket levers. My OCD would keep my up at night if I went with long/short :wilynily:

Same here, no problems running short levers, clutch is light enough for me to get away with a shortie. I used to run odd levers when I raced MX (many years ago) as my 125 had a very light clutch and not very good front brake. The 465 was the opposite.
