Terdog, if the pic you're using for your avatar is of a real sign somewhere, I want to know where it is so I can add it to my motorcycle bucket list.

Hwy 49 just west of the intersection with Hwy 89, just above Truckee. Some great loops up there. Its part of my favorite loop that takes me 12 hrs & 500 miles, pretty much all twisties.

Its almost maintenance free.

Is that like being "kinda" pregnant?

The lube is exposed to the air, and the heat from the engine will cook that lube. Not to mention the dust and dirt that works its way into the cable. I dont know about you, but I ride in the rain without bliking an eye, so moisture will also find its way in there Then theres washing the bike...

Ive been riding for 30 yrs. I had 1 cable break on me in all those yrs, and it was at the lever barrel. Since then, I lube the cable and the barrel and have never lost another.
