Picked up a set of shogun frame sliders off ebay that say 71-1544 fz1 06-07 on one label but 750-6809 06-13 fz1 on another.
When I try to put them in the frame holes they barely fit and wont go all the way down and bottom out. I even lubed em up and put a wood block on it and hammered them and still wouldn't budge. WTF , this should be so easy any thoughts?

Took some sandpaper to the plastic and it seems to have done the trick. Now im just worried they aren't seated far enough. (ocd)

This look ok to everybody?

now im freaking myself out, I tightened them till they got snug and tried to tq the bolts to 33 ft lbs. it seems like they just keep tightening and I don't want to over tq or mess up the threads. I dropped it down to 25 ft lbs and it still didn't click. ugh

Did you remove both sides of the original frame bolts at the same time?
If so, maybe the engine moved slightly down and is not allowing the new bolts to go in all the way. Maybe you can try jacking up the motor slightly from both sides at the same time, just enough so the holes align.

What he is seeing is 100% normal.

I have the same sliders, had the same numbering on them. The pics look normal, no sanding needed. My engine shifted a little when I had undone the factory bolts and thankfully for a dirt line I was able to nudge it back. You can keep tightening and crush the plastic and aluminum insert inside if you go too far.

If you're worried, the idea to use the light Locktite is a good one. I've put 28,000 on mine without Locktite and I had tightened them down to about the same torque you did (I only went one quarter turn after it was snug and then dug into the plastic to seat the bolt).

Relax more, ride more, worry less.

Sanded them down a little and they fit like a glove. Got a quality tq wrench and they tq'd properly no problem. Thanks for the help. All is good, lets ride!
