Brand new owner, how do I get at the battery??

Hey I just picked up an '09, literally brand new with only 760 kms on it! I'm a very excited guy. It started up in the shop just fine when I loaded it onto the truck, but then it spent about 18 hours sitting up there in -42 weather before I could get it unloaded, and now the battery's dead. The owner's manual says nothing about it except that I need to keep it charged, duh. and my shop manual is in the mail..

I read somewhere about having to lift the fuel tank to get at it, but how do I even get at that? I don't want to start just taking random screws out where I don't have to.

Thanks to anyone that'll help. if you've done this before and have pics with any detail, that would be awesome.

oh and while you're here.. I'd like to put a different chain on it, what size do I need?

Unlock the passenger seat and remove it. Then you can get to the release lever for the rider seat and remove it. There you have the battery.

At least this is how I do it on my FZ1-N '06.
