another de-cat question

hi all i been looking at doing the decat mod on my fz1 2007 model i have an aftermarket slipon can. my question is will i have to change the fueling or install a power comander if i do the mod i have shown a friend of mine what is involved and he advised me that the cat in the fz1 must be creating a lot of back presure so by removing it and releasing that pressure it might cause the bike to run or idle incorrect has anyone experienced any porb after doing the mod :thinking:
 
I gutted the cat and installed mivv slipon with no problems at all (except the popping on decel with the baffle out, baffle in a lot better) power commander will be needed when you take the mods beyond that
 
Hi,

General concensus seems to be that you do not need to change the fueling with just a slip-on and de-cat. I have an 09 with Akro slip-on and de-cat and it idles well and runs great. Easy riding (?) gets about 40 mpg (your mileage will vary with happy riding). I did do the AIS plug to get rid of the popping.

Ditto, kill the cat. Your bike will run fine and sound better.
