Amsoil Full Sytnthetic 10W-40

Changed my oil today after putting 2K miles on my 08 FZ1. PO had used Klotz synthetic at 2K, which was what was in it when I got it. I will say that the shifting is noticeably clunkier. I am considering going back to Klotz syn. even though I have used Amsoil for years in other bikes without issue.

I know these gear boxes are "clunky", but the dirty Klotz shifted 10 times smoother than a fresh Amsoil change. Not trying to start another oil thread, just putting my findings out here.

Give it a few miles before you pass final judgement. Often fresh or cold oil has a higher viscosity than the old broken down oil and that can cause the clutch plates to stick together a little.Even minor clutch drag will make shifting worse. Once the bike has been ridden a few times and its at full temp re-evaluate the shifting.
